Seagull Bar
Six people attended the Tuesday Morning Bird Walk, Marlene Nelson, Vicki Lempke, Mary Dumpke, Joan Alfredson, Lois Lauerman and Kathy Gable with leader Joan Campbell. The wind was extremely strong coming off the bay form the E N/E at about 25-30 mph and temp. in the 50's. The waves were large and very loud making it hard to hear the birds. Much more water this year so we could not walk around the point to the woods. This is the only time we will be able to bird the point this spring as the DNR plan on closing it off in 2 days for the piping plovers although as far as I know none have been seen yet. All the warblers seen were very low in the bushes because of the strong winds. There were a number of shorebirds at the point along with many terns and gulls.
